Arabic/English Resources

Hi everyone. Following on from the brief demo I gave on Wednesday, here is some information on resources that you may find useful.

PenPal and related books are great for using with families who have children up to mid primary age. The PenPal enables anyone to read the accompanying dual language books in both Arabic and English – particularly helpful for parents not literate in their first language who wish to read with their children in L1. You can get them from Mantralingua or from Amazon. There is also a visual dictionary available for the talking pen. The dictionary is good because it has the Arabic word, the English word, and a hint on pronouncing the Arabic word using English sounds.

These visual dictionaries are an excellent resource too – lots of vocabulary.
